The Adventure of Life
By Lydia (Solada) Goings
Life is an adventure that is from unknown to unknown.
There are innumerable ventures criss-crossing
The reality of time
That converge upon a progressive course
Of discovery and enlightenment.
Pieces of present float over predestined substance;
Weightless, formless, tideless;
Yet convulsed and purposeful,
Directed and determined,
Moving unceasingly and everlastingly
Toward ultimate, complete solutions
And perfect conclusions.
Struggling land masses,
Drifting on continental shelves,
Attach themselves, as do barnacles,
To greater masses, only to be separated again;
Organizing and reorganizing, ever trying to become
A perfect, lasting completed part of the puzzle.
Each soul, a necessary and integral part
Of the greater puzzle of life,
Struggles endlessly to refine itself,
Again, and again,
Through self-determining energies
And self-motivating love
To the greater illumination of life;
To the omnipotent, omniscient source
And ultimate completeness of itself.
This is the adventure of life and living;
To discover the solution for every problem,
The answer for every question,
The reason for every action
That projects added enlightenment;
To fit each individual puzzle piece
Into the correct area
Especially reserved for it alone;
To become a completed, harmonious
Expression of perfect eternal consciousness.

Choices
By Lydia (Solada) Goings
If forever I blame others for problems in my life;
If forever I curse God for events of stress and strife;
If today I experience destructive thoughts of hate
And become pessimistic with predictions of my fate;
If each day I allow my ignorance to guide my way,
Then, life, for me, becomes a torturous, unhappy day.
If, however and forever, I see that wonderous good
And discover the treasures of joy, as ever I should
And listen to the whisperings of life as they counsel me;
If I adhere to sublime meditations that carefully
Instruct that God is omnipresent throughout my day
And may lovingly enhance and guide in a perfect way;
If I exalt God for those magnificent truths that heal,
Then, life, for me, becomes a blessing that's forever real.
